About Me.

Hi there. I’m Tanner Maxwell, a visual journalist based in Tokyo.

My primary professional skills include editorial design, video production and data visualization.

As a journalist, the topics I’m interested in covering include East Asian politics and LGBT issues.

My work has been published in Sports Illustrated and The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

I graduated from Northwestern University in 2015, majoring in both journalism and art theory and practice.

I have professional proficiency in Japanese. (JLPT N2)
